About Me

I have been teaching piano for 18 years now. I have run piano studios in Boise, Salt Lake City, and Orem. In all studios I have had up to 25 students. I taught at the Art City Music and Dance Academy in Springville, UT. I played the keyboard in the renowned BYU Young Ambassador Show Band where we toured the Southern States and Cuba.  I am part of the Utah Music Teachers Association, Sandy City Chapter and believe that continuing education is important for teachers of all expertise.

Growing up, I studied piano under Bridget (McBride) Johansen and Professor Ralph Van der Beek. During college, I took various classes in piano pedagogy, theory, and business/communications. I graduated Brigham Young University in August of 2014 with a major in Advertising and a minor in Music.

I went on an LDS Mission to Portland, Oregon. I have 3 children. I enjoy being around children. I teach in a positive way and believe in constructive criticism that will help your child progress. Teaching piano is one of my passions.
